Otaru was my first port visit on board the USS KITTY HAWK. It was interesting getting use to all the rules for liberty. It was nothing like Yokosuka though, not many nationals spoke English.

I lived in Hokkaido, Japan for 2 years as an English teacher and had some amazing adventures. Hokkaido is the northern most island of Japan, and truely a beautiful place, not only is the scenery amzing, but so are the people! I thought I would share special pictures that are would give a glimpse into the life of a Hokkaido JET!

South Korea & Japan Winter Trip 2007 - Day 8 20/12 Otaru My relaxing trip in Otaru continued!! It's very nice to stay in Otaru as there were many cute and nice shops here. You can spend days in window shopping. If you have time and money, you can try to make you own glasses.
