Fantastic Place with a Maasai feeling and touching the wilderness May 19, 2013
When we arrived at Osupuko Lodge, we were rather tired after a day driving from Arusha to Tarangire and then driving in the Park for the most of the afternoon. The welcoming was nice, and they briefed us on the facilities and services with a smile.

While we were being escorted by people wearing the Maasai clothes, we were thinking about a nice shower and changing our dirty clothes. And yet we were able to enjoy the surroundings, which are adjacent to Tarangire National Park. There are baobab trees, very nice vegetation all around, and the guest "huts" combine perfectly with the area.

Once in the restaurant, we received a personalised menu congratulating us for spotting three cheetahs lying on a termite mound in the end of the afternoon. Our names and details about us were also in the menu. That was absolutely wonderful to read, and a really nice surprise.

The food at the restaurant was great and the service was also excellent, although it was noticeable that the waitress's English was not very good. The manager came to talk with us and took the time to listen to us, while addressing our feedback promptly.

During the night, we heard lions nearby (outside the lodge) and in the morning everybody was specially interested in knowing if a lion had preyed an impala nearby. We didn't find it, but given the circumstances, I believe we could have spotted something similar. Do not be concerned on safety, though, as there are vigilantes night and day walking around.

It was a great stay overall. Too bad we couldn't stay more than one night there!
