great example of what a hostel should be Feb 15, 2012
From the moment you arrive at the Ostello Bello you get a very warm welcome from the cheerful staff, and A free drink whilst filling in the necessary paperwork. This gives you a chance to take in the vibe from the bar/lounge and to get a feel what whats in store for the remainder of your stay. There's plenty of tables and chairs generally filled with a mixture of travellers and locals, chilling out, reading(stacks of books to read) or using the free wi-fi. The rooms here are clean and of a good standard for a hostel. We had a double room with en-suite on the 1st floor, but you wouldn't know from the lack of noise that you were right above a busy bar. The common areas here were great, from the huge kitchen to theoutside balconys with herb gardens, hammocks and generally a great place to kick back (though not so much in january). Besides the bar/lounge at street level which includes the reception and free breakfast buffet, is the tv/music room down in the basement with sofas, stereo and even some musical instruments (i think) Back to the staff, nothing was too much trouble for any of this great team and they were all very sociable and on hand to answer any questions you may have about where to eat, visit, avoid etc and they did their best to make you feel at home in the hostel and indeed the city of milan. The staff go out of their way to interact with the guests and also give them a feel for the local life, with a mixture of workshops in allsorts from languages to dancing. The Ostello Bello is well situated in a nice area of milan, only a short walk from the main cathedral of Il Duomo which also has a metro stop which is only a few stops from the main train station. Nestled in a side street off of Via Torino which is a pretty busy street full of shops and places to eat, the hostel is a great base to explore the city of milan, and is also close to the nightlife the city has to offer. There are cheaper places to stay in Milan, which is generally an expensive city for accomodation, but if your after atmosphere, chance to mix with the locals and to feel at home, then i doubt there are many better places to stay. Thank you Ostello Bello for changing my opinion of milan :)

Great spot --- May 09, 2012
They have a great set-up there. It's in a good spot with great employees. It has a bar and restaurant that the locals actually use. The rooms are a little Crowded, but the great staff and atmosphere make it worth it.

The wifi was free- they give u a welcome drink, and they watched my bag for a few days for free. I love these guys.

The apertivos for happy hour aren't great, but not many places have great apertivos. The place was clean and well taken care of and secure.
