Os Tibetanos Lisbon Reviews
Resources were stretched and table selection is vital Jul 22, 2015
N38°43.194' W9°8.922' in May 2015 we walked in late on a Saturday night to find this res-taurant packed with local people. Good sign. Os Tibetanos is part of a Tibetan Buddhism school and the mantra is fresh vegetarian food, with daily specials such as quiche and curry. Regular guests occupied the best spots in the serene courtyard. They know where to sit for diner. Unfortunately, there was only a table free in an unfavourable spot near the cash register and the main exit for us. Hungry and lacking an alternative for a vegetarian meal we accepted the spot near the cash register.
With all tables occupied, people entering and leaving, the restaurant felt hectic as a full underground wagon. Few guests failed to shut the door of the restau¬rant behind them, causing a cold wind to rush over our table. This stopped the creation of a dining atmosphere completely. We ordered Ngo Tsey (curry with tofu and spinach) and Prato Dia (balls with tomato sauce; broccoli with). With a cha yogi classic as dessert and two drinks, we paid €25.10. Very modest.
Staff was clearly stretched to the limit and although they served us quickly, their food was the victim. It offered the same impression as an airport meal without atmosphere. Find a weeknight and a table in the roofed garden.
