Orosi Vacation Guide
Orosi, in the Cartago Province, is a town steeped in legend. It is famous in Costa Rica for being the home of the oldest Church currently in use, the 'Iglesia de San Jose Orosi'. It is set in the Orosi valley, bordered by steep and jagged mountains. Towards one end of the town is Lake Cachi. Locals tell tales of the day when the direction of it's current mysteriously switched.
Visiting Orosi is a bit like stepping back in time. Inhabitants are scarce and the mighty landscape overwhelms the few buildings that scatter the town.
For those looking for something to do except marvel at the view, you can both boat and go trout fishing at Lake Cachi. Adrenaline junkies can also have a go at Whitewater rafting. Afterwards, no matter how tiring the day, everyone can take a soak in one of Orosi's thermal baths, Los Balnearios or Los Patios.
Orosi Valley, is considered by many, to be the most beautiful Valley in Costa Rica. Nature, Adventure and Relaxation go hand in hand, in magnificent surroundings. Well worth a visit.

It is be…

The drive back down was possibly even more impressive than the volcano itself. The lower parts of the volcano are covered in cloud forest, and we were still above the clouds. We stopped at one point to have a look at the sea of clouds below us. Very surreal.
And the views only got better…
