If you're ever in Houston and want Mexican food. Jan 21, 2009
If you're ever in Houston and want Mexican food...Houston is renowned for it's Tex-Mex and there's nothing like it elsewhere. You can eat Mexican food your entire stay in H'town and you'd rarely have a bad visit. Try the Original Ninfa's on Navigation, or the handful of Lupe Torillas around the area. The beef fajita is the best at Lupe, especially if you like your meat zesty. Chupultepec is opened 24/7 and the food is cheap but very good. It's always dependable. I recently went to Don Carlos' place and not only were we thrilled to have endless queso at lunch, but the food was under $30 for three people, and I loved my food. Chuy's on Westheimer at Kirby has a wonderful ranch/cilantro dip that isn't on the menu but you can order it. You will not be able to stop yourself! Anyway, those are some tips on where to eat Tex-Mex in Houston. Also, for a quick burrito, turn away from Taco Bell. Try Mission Burritos or Freebird's. My favorite places in Austin for Mexican food are Los Polvos and Jovita's. Enjoy!
