Splendid views Jun 30, 2012
The Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve is a protected state forrest only 27 km long, 4 km wide and 400 m deep. The Gorge is formed by the Mzimkulwana river and hosts some spectacular viewpoints. You can access the park by car, follow the tracks and visit the indicated viewpoints. Standing on the very edge of the ravine (there are no railings), you can overlook the gorge and see the river 400 meters below.

We were there in winter and saw hardly any other tourists.

Don't expect to see a lot of wildlife, there are suposed to be several antelope species and a lot of birds, but we didn't encounter any. The views make a visit worthwhile, though, and since it's not a big park, the visit won't take long.

Stunning Mar 13, 2011
Stunning place, great views, plenty of overhanging rocks to sit on if your not scared of heights. The highest gorge swing in the world (apparently) dont know how much truth is in that but its a 165m free fall and swing over the gorge...great stuff...and if your not the fittest of people you can drive it all, no walking needed to get to the top
