The last thing to discuss concerning Thailand is the final portion of the trip when we got back into Bangkok after Pattaya. Chris gave me a xanax for the bus ride, because sweet-talked it out of him. I spent the majority of the ride asleep or pretending to be asleep. Being on xanax made that entertaining. The bus to us to BKK airport where we caught cabs to get into Bangkok proper. The Following Day: 7:30AM: The next morning we eat breakfast prepared by the hotel. They had prepared fresh fruit, scones, orange juice, coffee and tea all for us since we were the only guests that night. After breakfast, it was time for the trains! I went to school in LA and lived in DC. I've done the drive many tiems now, both alone and with help. This was gonna be the big drive. The "I just graduated and dragged my brother along drive." It, in fact, was a big drive.

I arrived in Portland in the afternoon. My friend Kert picked me up and drove me to the dealership where the new addition of my family was waiting!! Once we picked up my truck we drove to his house in Eagle Creek to drop of his vehicle and start our adventure!  We made it to Tacoma, WA that night. I wanted to stay the night at my friends’ house. So that's what we did. SUPER FUN! We bought beer and watched the Family guy.........

We are getting ready today to head out for our last bike ride of the season.  We will be gone for 8 days.  We are heading towards Oregon (Three Sisters) and who knows where from there.  It is going to be a time of relaxation and renew spirits.  We can't wait!

Overnight Train to Portland

Woke up early, the hotel was not the most pleasant I have ever stayed in. During the night I had to shut the windows because of what I can only describe as a landfill smell was coming into the room. When I checked out I gave a long list of items that I felt was wrong with my room, including the fact they wanted $8 for wireless internet access, which barely worked.
