OK, I'll admit, we got there kind of late and were super tired, but a couple of points:
1) Although they were/are going through a renovation, the place was kept very neat and tidy.
2) The Breakfast room was small, but the breakfast itself was good for free/included.

The hotel I stayed for the weekend in Lincoln City, OR was fair and pleasant. However, it did not have any views of the Pacific Ocean. Sadly, on the weekend, the town is sold out of ocean views; it particularly does in the summer months (May-August) in the States.

I was too tired to make the trip back from the coast to Portland and ended up giving in to stop in the town of Albany (20 miles from Salem). By the looks of the town i expexted a crappy Motel 6 if i was lucky, but came across the Phoenix Inn. All i can say is wow, rooms were spacious and immaculate....
