Located about three miles south of Guernsey, Wyoming is this State Historical Site. A dirt road leads you to a place where early settlers traveling west left their wagon tracks in the rocky area. Thousands of wagons traveling the same route cut deep tracks into the rocks as they climbed out of the North Platte River Valley. There is a parking area at the base of the hill with restroom facilities and several signs and markers to help enrich the experience. A short hike up a not too steep trail leads visitors to these ruts. Several benches and additional signs break up the hike into shorter segments. Trying to picture a wagon train struggling up the rocky hillside isn't hard with these deep ruts in the ground. It must have been quite a site!! This site is only about two miles away from Register Cliff State Historic Site.
