Good location, value, service and comfort Oct 03, 2012
Only 5 minutes from Market St and all the shops and public transport you'll need. The dorms are 4 beds, comfortable and relatively spacious with lockers, you can pay $2 extra for ensuite, recommended as there's only 3 or 4 bathrooms per floor.

Breakfast is included, with cereals and waffles, although they only provide syrup and there's no bread. The kitchen is small but well equipped, I didn't use it for dinner but it may get busy when the hostel is full. There's not much communal space, compared with the Downtown HI and USA Hostel, but there's free internet terminals and wifi, a laundry room. They put on tours and events every week.

The price is average for San Francisco, we upgraded to a private 3 bed room for an extra $12 for two nights, which gave us a satellite TV, fridge and microwave, but no ensuite.

Like most hostels it can get noisy and the rooms get a bit hot if you don't leave the window open, but all in all it's a good hostel.
