It wasn't the cleanest place I've ever been to, but for the location (like 4 doors behind the Kodak Theater in Hollywood) coupled with the price, you can't beat it. It's just far enough back off of Hollywood Blvd to minimize city noise, even with the windows open, but so close you can basically spit on the impersonators milling about in front of the theater. For an extra $5 a day, you can park a car in their small private lot, which comes in handy if you decide to rent one for a day or two to get around sprawling Los Angeles. I'd definitely go back again.

Absolutely the best location in Hollywood! Perfect location for premiers, star dedications and hand & foot print dedications. Virgin megastore often has cd signings by famous artists...only two minutes walk from world famous Chinese theatre, walk of fame, Kodak theatre, metro, universal studios in 5 minutes, sunset strip(10 minutes), Hollywood bowl, Hollywood sign nature hike with amazing panoramic view of Hollywood/ Los Angeles, Hollywood heritage museum, yamashero(best view in Hollywood & great mai tai...(see more)'s). Enjoy dozens of theatres, restaurants, clubs, bars, shopping and most major Hollywood attractions. Hostelworld guests rate this location a 98%! Orange drive hostel is located on a quiet residential street in the middle of all the action! Orange drive is a great place for a calm sleep & rest, sheltering you from the noise of the busy streets just a few minutes walk from the hostel. This 1920's 'rustic mansion' has a very unique and special history. In the 40's, 50's and 60's it was the hotel and home to many classic movie stars and celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Greg Cooper and many more. Clark gable lived down the street and was a frequent visitor along with Rita Hayworth. We have kept up the charm of its history while catering to the budget traveller. Each private room is unique and comfortable and all contain antiques. Our dorms are also. All transportation is only a two minute walk as well as most major Hollywood attractions. Walk to runyon canyon for a spectacular nature hike and panoramic view of the Hollywood sign. Open 7am to 12midnight.
