Open Guesthouse Seoul Reviews
Awesome guest house May 19, 2011
I havent been there a long time, but know Danny, who is the guy taking care of this guest house.
His guest house is pretty big, got a lot of rooms and is really clean. You got to meet so many ppl, and the guest house is located in a really good area, near by the subway ( 혜화 ) and a lot of bars and restaurant.
I remember 2 friends of Danny who also have a guest house each (Mr Sea backpacker guest house and Mr Bong guest house) so sometimes they got all the guest gathered and party at Mr Bong's bar. What I mean is that you wont get bored even if you travel on your own because there will always be sth to do~
The staff change a lot but i remember they were all really nice person and helpful. Sometimes some of them only speak Korea but you can always speak to Danny who speaks perfect english :)

Unforgettable, friendly and helpful. Jun 21, 2009
Located just a few minutes walk from the subway station, this guest house is ideally placed.
The owner, Danny, is so friendly and helpful and you instantly feel at home. When we arrived he had a chat with us about what to see in Seoul, and gave us a helpful brochures with maps, ideas on places to go and restaurants etc.
The guesthouse itself is actually Danny's family home, of which part of it is used for guests, and the rest for his family. It is a very large property and very beautiful.
The large lounge has a projector for movies so you can have the cinema experience without paying the cost of a ticket! The kitchen/dining area has two PCs which are free to use, and have a fast internet connection.
Potable hot and cold water is available from a dispenser in the kitchen and free bread (sometimes cakes), jams, teas and coffees are available all day long (which is great if you're a later riser and don' like waking up early to get your free breakfast!).
The rooms are large, very clean, tastefully decorated and have a TV and air conditioning. We stayed in a dorm room and there was a bunk bed and a single bed. The beds are very comfortable and cosy.
The shower and bathroom facilites are excellent and always clean. Hair driers are also provided, which makes a pleasant change.
The main bathroom is incredible. It houses two 'open plan' showers, two traditional South Korean baths and a sauna. The style of the bathroom is something like a Thai spa, and there's also a great view from the window onto the mountains! They also provide a massage service to soothe those aching muscles after a hard day shopping!
There is a great value laundry service, which is provided by Danny's wife, and the nicely folded clothes are brought to your room for you. There is a large garden area where you can chill out in the evenings.
If you are staying in Seoul, I urge you to stay with Danny and his family in the Open Guesthouse. You will be so happy that you did.
