Daddy (my husband Dancr) wanted to go for a walk with the family ... though I was partially interested to going shopping for some flowers (to fill the garden) ... but I put my wishes aside and went for the ride where he took pictures of Malard Ducks, Canada Geese, and the usual Seagulls ... then I snatched the camera and took a picture of the lake (to be named later) and many flowers (of course) but I really had a KEEN interest in the vaiety of bugs that were 'feasting' on the ...

We headed back to Toronto on the train yesterday, pretty uneventful journey, we did get some views of Lake Ontario though once we were nearing Toronto.  We arranged our train tickets to go to Jasper from Winnipeg next wednesday. After signing in at HI Toronto we went to our room and were slightly disappointed - 3 bunkbeds all squashed into a tiny room - think we were both a little disheartened!!  I'm sure its not going to be the worst of our travels!!  Went out for a wander do...

I was sort of ... no, I was nervous meeting up with a total stranger from Travbuddy.  Never having met a 'cyber-friend' this Travbuddy Met-Up was 'virgin territory' for me.  Dan and I looked through a magazine waiting for Bill to arrive at Starbucks ... Bill said he would be wearing a Cowboy Hat ... suddenly Dan said "there's Bill" ... we walked towards each other and introduced ... my nerves went away quickly, he was a nice guy and we quickly purchased our coffees and sat...

On the way back from Niagara-on-the-Lake we spotted the large Souvenier City establishment. It's on the Niagara Parkway and can't be missed. We had to stop in! Souvenier City has a wide array of Canada and Niagara Falls themed merchandise ranging from T-shirts, hats and other apparel to souvenir magnets, spoons, thimbles, plates, and bottle openers. There is an Indian handcrafts area and also an Ann of Green Gables section. Postcards, too, of course. It's all tastefully display...

so got up early Friday.....had to go with my cousin Gerry to pick up a rental car.  Went down to his restaurant.  Actually helped him to refill some supplies and get things set up for the breakfast rush before his staff arrived. At around 9am he called over to his friend at the rental car office.  My cousin was told that they were short staffed and he would have to come to the office.  We left to drive over and after getting there it took about 20 minutes to get a vehicle...

Again, I was late. But what’s new? I met Steven at St. Andrew’s station at 1pm. It was a sunny day in Toronto so we were really lucky. We took the cab to the distillery district. After realizing that I can’t watch the Champions Cup game there, we booted it to The Esplanade and had lunch and a few drinks at the Scotland Yard as I watch Liverpool annihilate Fartsenal (hahaha I love lame play-on words) 4-2. After the sweet victory we walked to the St. Lawrence market to look at various tou...

However, for ppl who know me, I am not really the wedding type of girl BUT since it was an Italian/Portuguese/Latin American wedding I knew that I had to make an appearance for a few reasons. 1.) The food. 2.) The booze 3.) Well, I guess its cuz my friend is tying the knot. The reception was very lovely, I told all my close girl friends th...

Question: What's something Canada has that the United States doesn't have? Answer: A fantastic view of Niagara Falls! Not only that, but Canada has turned The Falls into the Ultimate Tourist Trap--maybe not as big as Orlando, but certainly with the most Tourist-traps-per-square-meter... In just a a couple of blocks there are 4 wax museums, 4 haunted houses, an indoor zoo, an indoor water park, endless other money eating "attractions"... Clearly, the US doesn't have a monopoly on over the...

It lies across the river from Niagara Falls, New York, and was incorporated on June 12, 1903.   The city is dominated by the Niagara Falls waterfalls on the Niagara River and benefits from the fact, that both falls, American Falls and Horseshoe Falls, can be best seen from the Canadian side thus presenting the city one of the major tourist attractions of the world.                  This blog is just to highlight some random events and things I've done within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and vicinity. Toronto is the largest city in Canada and there is a lot to see and do. Often enough you tend to take for granted everything the city has to offer when you live there.  I’ve been procrastinating and initially wasn’t going to write a blog at all but I’ve de...

Niagara FallsNiagara Falls is far more than a natural phenomenon. A world-class destination with something for everyone, the city offers thriving night life, one-of-a-kind sightseeing, and adventure for all ages. Niagara Falls are massive waterfalls on the Niagara River, straddling the international border separating the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. The falls are 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York, 75 miles (120 km) south-southeast of Toronto...
