Onotria Wine Country Cuisine Reviews

Easy Gourmet Dining At A Great Price Jun 13, 2008
A cozy restaurant tucked in Costa Mesa, Onotria pleases a wide variety of palettes. Featuring largely French and Italian food they hold true to both the wine and country feel. Excellent service compliments their menu which changes seasonly. A few popular items remain constant like the 'Half Chicken, brick pressed & seasoned with fresh Lemon, Garlic & Herbs,' for instance. This reviewer is sad to see the the Pheasant in Sage Butter Sauce leave, but hopes it might return (along with the Fig Tart) next year.

If the large selection of dining options arranged on the menu by wine paring is not enough you can always take home some of their fine cheese, olives and cured meats. If you are unsure if $28 is a bit much for their '8 oz. Filet Mignon, pan seared & served with a Pomegranate Dry Cherry & Port Wine Reduction' (worth every penny!) then come by at lunch time and see if you like the 'Grilled Stripe Bass with a chilled Cucumber Dill Sauce, served open faced on Focaccia' or the 'Venison & Wild Boar Burger with Oyster Mushrooms & Maui Onion Marmalade on Rosetta.'

The only draw back to this place is your probable need for reservations on weekend evenings and the fact that they are not open Sunday!!!
