Fabulous location - thats why I stay here again and again Apr 01, 2015
I keep coming back to this hotel because of its location and I know that the rooms are clean and that things are work - and on top of this this hotel quite often has bargain offers on the price. There is a parking for your car only 150 meter from the hotel and it is open 24/7 - I have parked there many times over the years and never had any trouble.
The hotel is located only a two hundred meters from Las Ramblas, which often is the first landmark that most tourists identify with Barcelona. It is the central most boulevard which cuts through the heart of the city centre and is a vibrant and lively promenade filled with Barcelona action at its best (and sometimes the worst).
The hotel is modern with dimmed light in the evenings, The reception has been staffed with the same people over the years and they are service minded and quite helpful if you need advice. There are bars, restaurants, liquor shops, grocery shops, dry cleaning and much more located next to the hotel.
The rooms are nice and clean. The size is okay for being located in the city center, the bed is nice and the bathroom is modern and things are working. The breakfast can be quite crowded depending on the time you are but it is nothing special, which I don't mind as the entire city is at your feet just outside the door.

Super location Dec 29, 2012
I had stayed at The Onix Hotel some years earlier when it was a 3 star hotel and I then stated that it should be a 4 star hotel and they had lifted it. The hotel was as nice as last time but we got a boring room only facing the interior area of the hotel.
The hotel location is absolutely astonishing 300 meters from the Rambla and located next door you find the fabulous London Bar where people like Picasso, Dali and Gaudi were hanging out and tourists like me.
The room have really nice beds and the baths room is modern. The rooms are not spacious but in Barcelona you don't spend much time in the room anyway. There is flat-screen in the room with CNN and otherwise mostly Spanish channels. The wi-fi works well and it is free.
The reception desk is not manned all the time but it can be called.
