The Omni in San Francisco is regularly listed as one of the top hotels in San Francisco, and it's not hard to see why. The rooms are simple but elegant, and the service is top notch. I forgot to bring deodorant and they brought me a free stick within a few minutes after I called the lobby, at no charge.

The hotel seems relatively small (but maybe this is just most hotels in SF?), but everything seems well polished, like a well functioning machine. There wasn't anything that stood out or that seemed missing or out of place, which I think is just a sign that the hotel is run extremely well.

The drawback to this hotel, for someone vacationing in SF, is the location. Since it's in the financial district, there really isn't much to do near the hotel at night around here. Other than Chinatown, which is nearby, everything pretty much shuts down. It is fairly close to Union Square, though, but that might get old if you are not interested in shopping.

If you're in town for business, and your business is in the Financial District, however, this could be a great place to stay.

Parking, too, is incredibly expensive at ~$48/night for valet. Given that the average rate here is only $141/night, you could be paying more than 25% of your cost to parking. I'd recommend parking at a cheaper garage, along Sutter (i.e. Sutter & Stockton), and then walking to the hotel.

Awesome review. I will use it next time. No more naming my price on priceline. :)

Luxury at its best! Dec 06, 2006
The hotel has a great location. It’s just steps away from Chinatown, North Beach and Union Square. It’s also on the California Cable Car line, so getting up to Nob Hill isn’t that bad!

It’s a great hotel for business and leisure. The staff is ...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Honestly...this was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had and this was my first time at an Omni. From the moment we walked into the reception to the moment we walked out the door two things really stood out...the service and the room. Ev...read entire review at TravelPost.com
