Beautifull inca ruins, most people don't even see them as they are just buying their last needs for the trip to machu picchu by train. If you stay a bit longer in town, make sure you don't miss them.

After this our plans were to go to Ollantaytambo. It is a living Inca town. There are 1000acres of archeological sites in Ollantaytambo. We were headed towards the soup kitchen founded by Washi so we stopped there and he explained the mission of the kitchen and let us look around. She told us to buy these in Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo, what a name. Difficult to pronounce, difficult to remember.
We stepped out of the train station again. Hopefully we will be able to buy the tickets back, otherwise we might lose more time that we could afford.

We also went to Ollantaytambo. This is a small town, but you can find the Ruins of Ollantaytambo, the only site where the Incas defeated the Spaniards in battle. There are a lot of terraces, so the exercise was great and helpful for the Inca Trail. This… Exploring Cusco... |

Instead of all other tours I would first go to Ollantaytambo and then to Pisac. The ride to Ollantaytambo was a long, but beautiful one. At one point I had a great view over the valley with the river and the village of Urubamba below. Then, after descending into the valley, I got to taste… The sacred valley |
