We stopped here for a drink during the day, so I cannot really comment on how busy this place gets during the day. When we walked in, we could smell old cigarette smoke, which was something that surprised me since you are not allowed to smoke in any restaurant or bar in California anymore. So, I am not used to that anymore. Since this pub has its own brewery, it sells quite a bit of local beer as well as its own root beer, which was quite tasty. The barman was nice to help us with the selection of beers. A nice touch were the historic photographs of Iowa State University students that hung all over the pub. The town seems to be quite proud of having a university.
