Warsaw is a very old town with a ton of history, that was all destroyed in WWII and rebuilt. Personally I liked it less than Krakow, but I think that was mainly because I loved living in the dorms (see Krakow entry). Rynek (Main square) was beautiful and was fantastically restored to look exactly like the city before the Nazis destroyed it. The Castle is beautiful, but Im not a huge art person, so the inside was kinda boring for me. For food, eating in Rynek is nice, but a bit more pricy. I loved the Kebab stands, for about $3usd you get a tasty lunch/dinner and a coke which was great especially on a student budget (more on Kebabs in Krakow). Overall loved Warsaw, and I definatly recommend a visit to there

Besides driving around the major areas of the city, our final stop on the city tour was to Old Town. The old town is very beautiful, and reminded me of a nicer Stockholm old town. So, did the old town, and was absolutely shocked at the amount of people queuing up for the Churches (being Easter time in a very religious country…) There were literally thousands of people queuing… My First Stag Night... This time I haven´t booked a hotel, I rented a small unit in the old town which cost me 80 euros a night. In the start I looked for a hotel, but all of them were international hotels and in the new side of the city. As it was in the old town, the taxi could not drive me straight… One day tour in Warsaw |

I was a little too tired to try out the night life, but I walked around the city today to see the Old Town and surrounding areas. My hostel was about a 30 minute walk south by southwest away from Old Town so it afforded a good opportunity to see some stuff along the walk there. Again the old town was your typical little European… Warsaw - the last stop |

The Old Town of Warsaw, which most of it was destroyed by the Nazi's in the Second World War, was quickly built to its former glory. Walking around we found the 'Palace Under The Tin Roof', 'The Royal Castle', 'Zygmunt's Column', 'Barbican and its city walls' 'Old Town… Warsaw, Poland |
