Old Town Hall Tower Prague Reviews
Great View from the top Aug 23, 2011
Given that we had just missed the hourly display from the adjoining Astronomical Clock we decided to climb the Old Town Hall Tower. Tickets are available from the nearby tourist information centre to the left of the tower and clock on the 3rd floor and are priced at 100 koruna (approx 3.00)
Just down the corridor is the door to where the climb commences. The climb itself is just a pathway on a gradual increase towards the top of the tower. There is also a lift available if you so wish. Nearing the top of the tower you come across a traffic light system as the last bit of the climb is up a very small spiral staircase.
You have the opportunity to view the town from all four sides of the tower. However, given that this is quite a popular tourist attraction there is not much room to manoeuvre, and patience is required whilst waiting to get a prime spot to view the surrounding countryside. Placards are displayed around the walls giving details of the various buildings that can be seen.
The views from the top of the tower are awesome, you can see for miles.
Would definitely recommend this, though may not be suitable for those that suffer from claustrophobia given the limited space available once at the top of the tower.
