Old Swan Hotel Harrogate

Before staying here I had read a lot of negative reviews on the internet, however many of the complaints appear to be fictional or over - exaggerated. The hotel had been re-decorated before my stay though, so I can not comment upon its appearance before.
The entrance is grand, and our room was large and spacious (we had 2 linked rooms) though it was fairly dark as the lighting was not strong and we didn't have much sunlight (good old english weather!). The bathroom was new and probably the best part of the room! The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and as mentioned there was lots of space (large rooms!)
Breakfasts were fantastic - all you can eat buffet with cereals, english breakfast, bakery, yoghurts, fruit etc.
Dont rule this hotel out - it may have been bad in the past but it appears to have re-invented itself.
