Old San Juan Nightlife Reviews

If you are planning on going to Puerto Rico, you must visit Old San Juan. It is one of the main spots for the San Juan nightlife especially if you want to experience some great cuisine. There is a road called "Calle Fortaleza" that at the end has a small section they they refer to as SoFo (South Fortaleza Street), this is THE place to eat when you are in Old San Juan. They have different types of restaurants to please anybodies palette. I will mention a couple of restaurants since I do not know them all personally but you have Dragonfly which serves "Asian Latin" cuisine and THE place to eat at while in SoFo, if you want to eat there please plan ahead and arrive about 7pm or earlier as the waiting time after 8pm is about 2 hours! Also sometimes they have a DJ playing at nights which is great to start your party off! This restaurant has a great ambience too and a great bar. Right next to Dragonfly you have Aguaviva which is a seafood restaurant, ceviche bar and in overall another great restaurant. Right across the street from these two you have The Parrot Club which is also one of my favorites and server "Nuevo Latino" cuisine, remember to order a Mojito! A couple of steps away you also have Sonne which is a tapas-like concept restaurant, I say tapas-like because the concept of the restaurant is to share between people but the portions are bigger than tapas and it's not exactly a regular tapas menu. It's a great addition to SoFo!

Now you have eaten and you want somewhere to go right? Well there is plenty to do in Old San Juan with clubs and bars all over the place. Right on SoFo you will find plenty of places to hang out, you have Milk which is a club right on top of another restaurant/bar called Fratelli, both are excellent locations and some of the busiest places in Old San Juan at the moment. In front of Milk you have more clubs/bars which are all excellent but unfortunately I can't recall all the names, but you cant go wrong here! I assure you will have fun at any of these. Exactly behind the Old San Juan Sheraton you will find Sr. Frog's which is very frequented by tourists from cruise ships do to its proximity to the port, although Old San Juan is not that big and you can walk anywhere you want. Also you have a lot of small bars on "Calle San Sebastian" which is at the very top of Old San Juan (Old San Juan is in a hill), you have Nono's, Dakiti, Kruggers, Tortuga, Cafe San Sebastian, etc. One thing of caution though, don't take drinks out of the bars! It's against the law and you will get fined, although they bars pay attention sicne they also get fined if you are caught.

I hope this helps and have a great time in Old San Juan!
