Great location, OK hostel Apr 30, 2012
We chose this on the location alone. It is Sultanahmet, and very close to some major attractions for Istanbul.

It was very easy to find, with a sign out front and on the door.

You walk up some stairs and then you see the desk for the hostel.

We stayed in a 6 person mixed dorm and had most of it to ourselves. The price was about $19 per night.

What I liked:

Location was unbeatable!

Stairs are not too difficult, even with luggage.

Rooftop terrace was relaxing and had a view of Hagia Sophia.

Plenty of shops and restaurants all around the hostel.

Walking distance Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and many other great places.

Bed was pretty comfortable and had linen and towels.

Plenty of bathrooms and showers, without wait.

Hot water was great.

Free wi-fi that was also fast!

Hostel was quiet at all hours.

What I did not like:

Shower had no door and leaked all over. The floor then became slippery.

While the staff was not rude, they were not very helpful either.

The place seemed as if it were being remodeled, which made it kind of dirty.

Overall, I would stay here again.

The good outweighed the bad in my opinion.
