Okura Amsterdam Reviews
Okura - Sublime East Meets West Hospitality in Amsterdam Jun 19, 2014
This is the second time I stayed at the Okura in Amsterdam. The first time was a quick in and out overnight, so there wasn't much for me to experience and savor the amenities and services this hotel has to offer.
From the outside, the hotel looks like a 4-star, but everything changes once you passed the main entrance. The front desk staff was very courteous and efficient, but their politeness seemed genuine and not staged.
I was upgraded to the Executive room because of my membership to the Leading Hotels of the World. The room was spacious and smartly decorated. Bedding and linen were comfort at its finest. Been a Japanese owned hotel, they have a robot toilet that does more than most people care to experience...it was interesting to say the least!
The Executive room gave me access to the lounge which has good quality food, snacks and drinks. They even stocked the finest Japanese beer...in Amsterdam, the home of Heineken!
Breakfast is a feast. You can order your ramen noodle freshly made, or go with the traditional western usuals...all are part of the sumptuous breakfast buffet.
The only drawback is the hotel is a bit farther away from the main attraction in Amsterdam for some people. I like it because it is tucked away is a nice quiet neighborhood, with plenty of picturesque canals nearby if you want some quiet time in this great city.
