Okaukuejo Resort Etosha Reviews
Okaukuejo Resort inside Etosha Game Reserve Mar 04, 2008
All three camps in Etosha Game Reserve have been renovated recently. The new interiors of the "chalets" in Okaukuejo Camp have been decorated with taste.
I was however a bit disappointed with the condition of the chalet. The air conditioning unit wasn't working (lucky it wasn't too hot), and one of the windows in the lounge was held closed with... a fork! I discovered that when the window was slammed open by the wind during the late afternoon storm. Well that was probably an isolated incident. I didn't have such problems on my previous visits to Okaukuejo...
Chalets are fully equipped for self-catering. But you may prefer to enjoy the buffet dinner at the camp's restaurant. The large comfortable bed is surrounded by a nice mosquito net.
There are a few small shops in the camp as well as a petrol station and an internet cafe.
Of course the main attraction is the waterhole at the back of the camp. It is just awesome, after a day's driving inside the game reserve to sit there, in the evening and at night time, watching the animals.
You will have to book in advance if you want to have a chance staying at any of the 3 camps during the dry touristic season.
