Oka Sushi
Oka Sushi Reviews
Sushi Heaven in the Rockies Dec 15, 2008
Hmm how could one best explain Oka Sushi. Let start by saying there's no reseravation after 6pm and this is because Oka perfers to let his guests enjoy the experiance and also there's only has 14 seats in the place. One Chef and you guessed it already its Oka.
So if you arrive and its packed dont be surpised, your lucky to get in at any time even when the lodge itself has a low house count, this place is a huge local favorite! Oka loves to chat and make everyone feel at home so sit back place your order for some hot or cold saki or beer. All Sushi comes in every 3 days therefore being super fresh. Oka can dish you up anything you like just about... though there is no cooking of any sort in here beside bbq eel and a few other small things. Oka take's great PRIDE when creating all his dish's as you will see when your sitting right at the bar 3 feet from him. If your in a rush don't bother to go here as your experiance will not be good. You don't know Sushi if you havent been to Oka's (unless your from Japan) Must eat, - Spice Chop Chop (hand role) - Taco shooter (octopuse and sea salt with rice of course and you guessed it you take it like a shooter! no soya! - BBQ eel is a crowd favorite - Spicy tuna role - Dessert (dont know what it is just tell him you'd like desseret, its alitte brown pouch sweet in taste and very yummy! If your lucky and Oka has his artic clam in be sure to get your fill but leave some for others. Be sure to raise a glass to Oka as he'll be sure to raise it back to you, I hope you enjoy this little best kept secret as much as I and the thousands of others. |
