Seemingly endless 9 hour daytime trip from Oslo to Columbus aboard Contintental Airlines. A Norwegian guy was watching Sideways on his laptop six rows up from us, which is pretty funny considering a few of the scenes are almost X-rated.

Because life is a trip, I'm chronicling the whole thing here. In a year where I've traveled to 18 great American cities, it's about time to show you where I've been! I just got a new camera, so from here on you'll be able to see where I went.

Columbus, Ohio is my point of origin for this trip around the world. My brother and I are leaving for Philadelphia this afternoon, which represents the first leg of a what promises to be a long, rewarding journey. Even though I've got a lot to do in the coming hours - and it is a bit chaotic - I almost feel it's the calm before the storm. I'm not sure it's hit me yet, what I am about to embark upon.

On the way home from Frankenmuth just south of Toledo on I-75, I noticed the giant wind turbines of the wind farm west of Bowling Green. You can see these huge turbines for miles. Curiosity overcame the four of us in the car, and we detoured to see what the windmills were all about.
Once you head west on State Route 6 about 6 miles west of Bowling Green, the turbines come into view. This wind farm is the first utility sized facility in Ohio. The 30-story turbines...

It was awesome to go to a World Series game. I went with my Dad to Jacob Fields to see Game 3 of the Series. Unfortunately, the Indians lost, but it was a great, and close, game. The excitement of being at a World Series game was great and I was glad I got to experience it with my Dad.

On the way home, we were able to see the windmills around Bowling Green, Ohio from Route 75. I love Bowling Green (having spent 4 years of my life there at college.) Dad got off on Route 6, and the windmills are a few miles away at the Wood County Landfill. It was really very neat to learn how they’re converting wind energy to electricity. They have a nice pull off with information. They even have a little computer set up with information run solely on so...

Since we didn't get back from Cedar Point until extremely late, we all slept in today. After getting up and having a relaxing morning, we went swimming again and relaxed the rest of the day. It was nice to be at a place where we didn't have to worry about hotels or going out to eat. It was certainly relaxing, and of course, was nice to be out on the lake looking for seashells, playing around with the boats and water activities. We had dinner as a family and our grandpa...

Well I made it back cross-country and slept like a baby on the plane. It was almost empty and I got an exit row seat so I had no problem stretching out. Unfortunately it's freezing cold in Cleveland and my little puddle jumper of a plane that is supposed to take me back home is acting up: the wing de-icers aren't working. I got delayed for almost 3 hours and then had to go outside in the ice and snow to get on my plane. I did not pack for the cold. Oh well. ...
