I can’t believe I did it! I can now say I am a half marathoner… last Sunday, my family traveled down to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon and Half. I ran the half marathon (13.1 miles) in 2 hours, 21 minutes and 20 seconds… I would have liked to do better, but it was so hard to find time to train with school always keeping me extremely busy. I hit the road on 5/29 and drove up into Ohio and parked at the Bush Creek State Park where I had stayed once before. This is a nice State Park right on a large lake. The reason for this location was the fact that it was close to Dayton and the Air Force Museum. I had visited this museum a couple of years ago and I spent a full day revisiting all of the different displays in this museum. Here the Air Force has collected samples of most of all of the planes ever put in service over the years....

So I landed in Columbus, collected my bags for the final time this afternoon, and headed outside to take a shuttle to my car.  Walked out of the airport to that wonderful searing 90 degree heat and humidity that I missed over the two weeks in Europe (almost made me appreciate our days riding in the chilly rain).  Made the hour plus drive home through some pop-up thunderstorms and realized that truly this was journey's end. Today we get to the kids favorite part of the trip....we stopped in Cincinnati to see their cousins.  After all of the beautiful places we have visited, this is what they tell everybody that they enjoyed the most. 

My oldest sister and I decided to arrive in the night hours, because Flogging Molly was the night-time band gig we were to see. They are an Irish rock band, and their combo style was very intriguing. We could hear them from within the food court, and we decided to sit and eat and have a listen. We neared the stage later on in the concert, and got in on some good jigging. I spent about 5 months here in 2005, training for my airline job. I was delighted to explore every neighborhood and try the local chili and beer....

I planned this trip to go to a friends wedding. Since I was going to be on summer vacation and done with teaching summer school and it was over the 4th of July, I figured it was a great time for a lil vacation time.

On September of 27-30,2007. There were a great sight to see an Air Force Aviation Celebration of that where form WWI - Today plans. The action were takin at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio. The weathers, were beautiful with a lot of sun shine and non-stop action. There were a lot of history that were showing of how African American, and women become part of USAF soliders.

Forget what you've heard...unless it was all good things.I was born and raised in Cincinnati, spent 18 of the 24 yrs of my life there.It will surprise you!Check the pic captions for more info about the city.I will be adding more pics as I get more time.

My travels in the north of Peru, from Lima, up the coast to the border with Ecuador and then east over the Andes and into the jungle. I had to come back to Cleveland unexpectedly, but I hope to start a new travel blog as soon as I can!
