Odalys Residence Le Cervin La Plagne

I stayed in the Apts Le Cervin, La Plagne in Feb 2008. I was with a school party of 35. When we arrived, the hotel had rented some of our rooms out for extended hours to the previous occupants, leaving 30 children standing in the snow with their suitcases for over 2 hours with nowhere to go. When we finally got into the rooms they were filthy and shabby (I had the pleasure of seeing about 8 of them so it wasn't just a one off poor room)- no way 3*. The bathrooms still had hair and toothpaste around the sink from the previous occupants. The children's beds were a joke. The bunk beds were too short for some of them and some of the beds had loose wires and a fuse box cupboard about 10 inches above the height of the mattress. When you check in you are given a check-list to note any damage, missing items etc from your room. This is then checked at the end of your stay by the hotel staff and any discrepancies found you are expected to pay for. Well, we wrote about 2 pages for each room because they were so disgusting but how can you check every cup, plate, spoon, inch of carpet and curtain in a room?? Before we left at the end of our stay we cleaned all of the rooms and left them in a better state than when we checked in but when we got home we were sent a cleaning/damage bill for 500 euros- what a con - we didn't pay!!!! The staff were generally very rude and unhelpful, particularly the hotel manager - one of her staff came and actually apologised to us about how rude she was! The only good thing I can say about this hotel is it has a great position - straight onto the slopes. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody.
