doesn't live up to its stars Oct 09, 2011
The room was quoted at $62 on Agoda but in reality it was supposed to be $82 room-all inclusive. Oscar cosy is on the 2nd floor with simple furniture such as 2 bed lamps on 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe with bathrobes in it, a rack, minibar, look-like-a-fish tank painting on the wall. Toiletries include soap, shampoo, body lotion, a comb, a sweing kit, cotton butt but no toothbrushes or toothpaste, which is kinda wierd. The gym has only 4 machines and some weights. The jacuzzi didn't work. Sauna and steam room are quite small and the manager is lazy. The steam room is always left at 40C, which is intolerable after 4 minutes. The garden is tiny, but the its pictures taken from a good angle make it an interestingly big enough place to be in. The garden was occupied by their staff gossiping. The breakfast was quite varied. There were 4 types of cereal to choose from and roughly 3 types of bread with honey, butter, peanut butter, orange jam, strawberry jam and pineapple jam. Juices included water melon and passion fruit which were watered down. They had pretty desserts to opt for such as cakes, pastries, yogurt, jelly, croissants and flan. But there was a poor selection of Vietnamese food. Most of hot dishes were for vegans, I guess since meat was a rare thing to be found in those dishes. The choices were fried rice, fried vegetables, fried noodles, sausages, bacon, white bean with potatoes sauce, baked potatoes, baked tomatoes and cheese, dumpling, crab and corn soup (there wasn't any real crab though), porridge and toppings, scrambled eggs and vermicelling soup with only 2 thin slices of roasted pork. If you wanna try a variety of Vietnamese foods for breakfast, this is not the place. The restaurant has lunch and dinner buffets catered to guests and non-guests at around $10/ adult. The staff behind the scene,i.e., those who works in the massage center are not professional. Overall, it's not worthy of a 4-star hotel. Therefore, its rates are overly priced in comparison with other hotels with similar facilities
