Ocho Rios is a very popular area for the locals to holiday. So popular that the resorts keep popping up and have become more popular for the tourist as well.
Not far from Ocho Rios is Dunn's River Falls. Always a popular tourist attraction, The Dunn's River Falls bring out the adventurer in you by giving you the chance to climb the beautiful waterfalls of Jamaica. A beautiful tropical setting provides the perfect backdrop for some fantastic photo opportunities. So the locals say "climb the falls and take 7 years off your life span"
Shopping the Jamaica way abounds in Ocho Rios. Taj Mahal, Hard Rock Cafe and the new Margaritaville area are within easy walking distance of the cruise ship docks. Various restaurants, jewelry, clothing, and trinkets are all offered in these areas. Need a taxi? You can hail a cab near any of these areas as well.

Wow, what a great place! Such friendly people the Jamaicans are!
We flew down to Fort Lauderdale on a Northwest Airlink CRJ-200 and then caught a Spirit Airlines A-319 to Montego Bay. It was about 2 hours and $40 return by bus to Ocho Rios from there. …

Jamaica is perfect for Spring Break. Always hot and sunny, which is perfect beach and water-sports weather.
Just a note to travelers: Don't pay full price on the markets here (unless you shop in a store). ALWAYS barter!
