Oceanside Vacation Guide
Oceanside is located centrally between Orange County and San Diego County.
What puts Oceanside on the map is a large MARINE base, Camp Pendleton. I write Marine in caps because if you mistakenly say Army or Air Force, the pride the Marines have will quickly correct you for your mistake! haha

If you have a bicycle or feel like going for a run, try the path that runs along the San Luis Rey river.
Like most piers in Orange County, you will find a Ruby's at the end, and the pier lined with fishers killing time all day. They hold events on the beach next to the pier for various activities including Jazz concerts.
And like any good beach city, there are plenty of restaurants and bars right within a mile radius of the pier.

California has some of the nations worst highway rest stops in the country. Well, at least the ones I have seen. So far in my travels, I would have to rate Oregon as having the best rest stops. Clean, well landscaped, well maintained, and even some have attendants who serve cookie…
