Melbourne, Australia -› Barcelona, Spain -› …
Survival of the fittest took on a whole new meaning the day of my farewell drinks (28 June). It was one of the last ‘getting ready to leave’ days and I had hoped I would have plenty of time to rest but there was still packing and moving boxes to ‘do’.It was a bleak Melbourne day and Deb and…

Nadi, Fiji -› Bounty Island, Fiji -› …
Last year I went backpacking in New Zealand and thought:So close to Fiji and what a waste not to fly to this beautiful island!
So we spontaneously booked a flight to Nadi and didn't waste our time to stay on the main island but to visit the Yasava islands!
We visited Tavewa, one of the small northernmost islands.Next stop was Kuata, my favourite one!
And the last one was South Sea island, the smallest island I've ever seen.

If you’re in Wellington and never complain about the wind, come and see me to receive your prezzie! Whether it’s a shiny or rainy day, the Wellingtonian’s lungs are always filled with the cold air without struggling for more. I moved from Bangkok, Thailand 4 years ago. Wellington, my second h…

Manly, Australia -› Sydney, Australia -› …
Seemed to be visiting Sydney a lot recently (because of work). I've always wanted to climb the Harbour Bridge after my 4rd attempt, I wasn't able to climb it. But I got close once, it's just that the office was close =(

Tabuaeran (Fanning Island) is indescribable. It's part of Kiribati, and it's a very small coral atoll in the middle of nowhere...but it is paradise. White sand beaches, cobalt blue water. And deadly sun rays...but I suppose it's my own fault for never having been so close to t…

Aloha Readers!I have just got back from my first ever jaunt to Bondi beach. "How lovely" I hear you cry. I awoke this morning at 6am to the sound of drunken tomfoolery in the street outside the hostel, I suppose it serves me right picking my digs in the Red light district of this ebullient city but…

I'm usually way more anal about packing than I was this week. I'd been giving it some thought but the only sort of preparation I've done has been to ensure some of the clothes I need have dried properly in this horrid weather. Fancy being struck by a weather bomb over the weekend…

My week long expedition on the Princess II with Rodney & Andrew Fox and their crew to the channel between the Neptune Islands. Every day was spent swimming with & filming Great White Sharks in their natural habitat.

As we picked up the rental car, I had my first experience with driving on the left side of the road. It's weird, especially when approaching the roundabouts and have to give way.....you're expecting the traffic to come from the other side!! Not to mention putting on the windowwhipers when t…

This was my third trip to Queensland's Airlie Beach and a great chance to take some photos of the town.
Airlie Beach is one of my favourite destinations in Australia because of its status as the gateway to the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.
This travel blog entry shows you some of the town and lagoon. Also shown is the Backpacker Hostel "Beaches" and on the other end of the scale "Coral Sea Resort".

Ok I'll be honest I knew nothing about Heron Island before this trip. It's the typical dilemma of knowing and dreaming of foreign lands and not appreciating what is in your backyard. The only reason I've had the chance to go here, was due to my brothers advice. He was coming back to Australia for a…

The very first mini meetup has just taken place in Picton New Zealand, Only two couples were able to meetup, but hopefully, what we lacked in quantity we made up for with quality.
It was the very first time either couple had ever been brave enough to actually meet face to face with the faceless f…

Today I went white-water rafting on the Tully River. My raft
(Team F-Yeah) consisted of me, Louise (Aussie), Kristy (NY), Adam (UK),
Andrew and Craig (Canadians) and our Kiwi guide Sunny. The river
had huge rapids and we flipped our boat several times. I have so
many bruises, …
