Don't want to go to Disneyland? Jul 11, 2011
Ocean Park is by far one of the best theme park i've been to besides of Disneyland. Since I've been to Disneyland Paris, i've made comparisons of my own, and I've got to say even though Ocean Park doesn't have those Disney magical characters that you've known since childhood, It gives you the chance to meet those cute animals not just from China but also from around the world.

Yeah, Ocean Park is the home to Giant Pandas, Sea Lions, Dolphins, Parrots and many other ocean creatures like Sea Jelly & NEMO!

They have shows which changes depending on the seasons like Summer Splash (featuring divers from other parts of the world), X-players extreme , Acrobatics performance, Dolphin & Sea Lion show and many more.

Now lets talk about rides..

Ocean Park is famous for it's roller-coasters, while some can look scary like THE FLASH, some are ride worthy for those of you weak-hearted. Kids can enjoy those water-boat rides like Rapid (Queue can get long, so plan your time there wisely)

They have restaurants throughout the park, even some which provide indian dishes. Remember to check out their schedule so that you won't miss those cool programmes they have.

Just like other Theme Parks, Try to come early so that you'll have more time to enjoy it.

How to get there? The Citybus Route 629 runs daily from Admiralty MTR Station or Central Pier No. 7. The bus fares are $10.6 for adults and $5.3 for children . (For those of you going to Hong Kong, get the Octopus Card, it's more convenient)

Price for admission is about 250 HKD / person while an annual pass is about 695/ person for an adult. Look out at your hostels for discounts (which i got for 10 %)

I've uploaded some of the Ocean Park shows in Youtube for you guys, so Check it out!

Best place to see pandas in Hong Kong Aug 19, 2011
When I went to China this summer I really wanted to see some pandas. I read some of the reviews of Beijing Zoo and Ocean Park on Travbuddy and chose to visit Ocean Park in Hong Kong. I was definitely not disappointed. The Park itself is so much fun. It is kind of a mix between a theme park, aquarium and zoo and is suitable for all ages. There are two panda enclosures and they have a few adult pandas and a few younger pandas on display. Each exhibit is well maintained and there are plenty of other animals and shows to see, including sharks, parrots, and seals. The Park is located on multiple levels and you have the opportunity to take a picturesque cable-car journey between the different levels. If you are ever in Hong Kong, this is a must see!

Spend a full day here ...... enough interesting things to do May 15, 2010
I visited the Ocean Park in Hong Kong on 10th, 2010. The tickets to ocean World are HKD 250 per adult which translates to approximately INR 1500 (which is very cheap in my view compared to the rides of offer and the activities you can do there – as compared to Essel World and Water Kingdom which I have been to in Mumbai).

You can get to Ocean Park, Hong Kong from the Admiralty Station. Bus No.629 takes you straight to the Ocean Park at the Peak Entrance. It is important to note that there are 2 parts to Ocean Park. The first one is on the Peak and the second part is the Waterfront. These 2 parts are connected in 3 ways. You can choose any of the following 3 ways to travel between the Peak and the Waterfront.

(1) Ocean Park Express (Train Ride)

(2) Cable Car (Very Scenic and highly recommended, however scary for people who are afraid of heights)

(3) Shuttle Bus

The map of Ocean Park is also split into 2 which is the Peak and the Waterfront and you will need to plan the 2 parts separately as you would want to move from one to the other only once in a day, else you will end up wasting time and miss out on all the fun things to do in Ocean Park.

A Zoo and an amusementpark in one Nov 04, 2009
In Hong Kong, Ocean Park has managed to draw more visitors than the nearby Disneyland. It has been around for a number of years and is build against a steep hill. The lower part of the park contains most animals, including the four panda bears and two red panda bears, the higher part mainly has rides. Be aware, if you are afraid of heights, DO NOT get on the cable car that links the lower and higher parts of the park together, you WILL get a heart attack. Take the Ocean Express instead, which is like a ride on a subway. If you enjoy views and altitude, go right ahead with the cable car and enjoy the ride.

The main attractions are The Giant Panda Habitat (here you can see the two panda’s An An and Jia Jia) and the Giant Panda Adventure (this building contains the habitats of panda’s LE Le and Ying Ying and two red panda bears). Next to this, you don’t want to miss the Atoll Reef (beautiful aquarium). Also nice are the Avery and the Sea Jelly Spectacular. There are several roller coasters, they are enjoyable but not very spectacular.

Make sure you come early and start with the Giant Panda Habitat and the Giant Panda Adventure to avoid the crowds. Also, if you want to use the cable car, do so in the morning. Nearly everybody wants to go from the higher part to the lower part of the park by cable car, which means there are huge lines in the afternoon.

Aquarium and theme park in one Dec 20, 2009
If you want to see some marine life, shows and go on a few rides then why not go to Ocean Park. The Aquarium is pretty cool, they did have a section just on frogs and there are a couple of special animals. There is a Panda exhibit and I saw my first Panda here. The rides are OK, I liked the Dolphin show the most though. I also played a few games but only won the small prizes.

You can go up a big tower and see all the park, you will also take a lift on wire across to other half of park.

They have a hot air balloon and as I timed it perfectly or so I thought for my last ride and went over and the guy closes the line right on me, I pleaded to let me go on but he just told me to get lost, what a rude staff member. You are not allowed to close lines on people you are meant to call it when no one is there, I know I work as lifty. So I still have to go on hot air balloon but they cost so much and this was free.

When I went to Hong Kong back in 2005 I had the opportunity to go to this cool amuzement park located in Hong Kong. There are numerous ways you may get to the park; city bus, car, taxi, and the entrance is directly located in front and back of the mountain. The Park is about 15-20 minutes from the main city. I went by bus with a group and the price was pretty average. Even though I went on a rainy day, it wasn't many people there which I recommend the best time to go to any amuzement park. There is so much to do and plenty of restaurants, fast food joints along the way, and stands for beverages as well. We rode the roller coaster from the top and it was the best part of the day for me...oooh wee, dont think about it - just do it! We also ate at the Middle Kingdom Restaurant down by the Tai Shue entrance, pretty darn good...cant go wrong with fried anything and rice is always the best choice too. The Park has many animals too...one of the ones that comes to mind is the Panda Bears==>You will have a chance to see them really up close. Wow they were the cutest and mainly all they do is eat roughly 14 hours a day and sleep,,awe! There was plenty of Marine life to see as well, the park name says it all...hope you get the chance to check it out, you'll love it...oh this is great for all ages and bring a good pair of sneakers too!
