Ocean Beach International Hostel - Reviews - Ocean Beach

Ok, I haven't actually stayed here, but I've had a few requests to check it out for people visiting...

Ocean Beach International Hostel (The OBI) is right in the middle of the block on Newport Ave., the entertainment center of Ocean Beach, a couple blocks from the beach. It's surrounded by cafes, clubs, surf shops and surf/bike rental places. It's a little hard to get a spot in the summer because of the prime location, and because it's such a nice hostel. It has the usual porch out front with lots of backpack toting, guitar playing travelers, an indoor common area, dormitory style sleeping, and some private rooms. Breakfast is included and plenty of cheap food is available within a block, round the clock. You probably won't get a lot of sleep there, but it looks like a cool place- I'm jealous I can't stay there!
