Oasis Museum Tinejdad Reviews
Berbermuseum in Tinejdad Jul 30, 2011
In the oasis of Tinejdad lies the ksar El Khorbat Oujdid. The people living here are Berbers from the Ait Mergad. About half of the houses of El Khorbat are still inhabited. Others have been rehabilitated with different functions, as a guesthouse, a museum or a handcraft workshop for women. Opened in 2002, the Oasis Museum occupies a group of three restored houses inside the Ksar El Khorbat Oujdid, with a total surface of 600 square meters, distributed over three levels. The posing is completely didactic, with the intension to answer the questions visitor may have about the culture of the south of Morocco.
Opening hours: from 9,00 AM to 9,00 PM. The key is available at the restaurant.
Entrance fee: 20 DH per person. Children under 12 years go for free.
After visiting the museum we had lunch in the restaurant.
