Oasis Hotel Cairo Jan 29, 2011
The hotel is used by bulk tour operators. It is always busy and it has too many rooms. It feels like the crowds of the tourists sites have all followed you home. Be early for breakfast or get only the left overs. It is also getting a little old. It is not bad but I would not go back.

green Oasis Aug 23, 2010
well, it is brilliantly located few kilometers away from main Giza governorate. not too far from the famous Pyramids of Giza,10 min away fro the pyramids.

at summer the hotel is visited by a lot of locals and tourists alike, having a day pass or spending a refreshing weekend making it an ideal break for friends and families alike.

A lot of greenery, well maintained beautiful gardens, rooms are all on one level each with patio doors, complete privacy, very cheerful and clean.

a nice swimming pool with a cute decorative bridge, the main restaurant is over looking the swimming pool with a cheerful all glass wing, swimming pool side. expect a lot of kids and families at the swimming pool. (pool closes at 7pm, do not remember exactly)

The main restaurant would be serving a mixture of delicious Egyptian and International cuisine, makes it ideal for those who like to try different cuisine. but do not expect much sophisticated food items.

Rooms: the glass acts like an outside mirror in the morning so people passing by would not see you even if you are not using the curtains, but be careful as at night the glass will be acting like a mirror from the inside, people can see you from the outside, for at night privacy make sure to have your curtains shut at night.

they have a table tennis table, but you will have to walk to the back gates to get the racket and ball, and it goes without saying that you will have to revisit the gates when you are done to return the racket and ball.

they have neglected basket ball/ volley ball courts. poor condition and nobody is using them.

non residents are not allowed in the rooms area after 10pm, i guess, you have to inform the security guards at the rooms entrance about your expected guests so they would let them in.

They have a pool café serves shisha (argilla) with a small bar serving non alcoholic drinks and local beer and wines, not sure if they are serving imported beers or any other drinks.

At night the pool café becomes the main attraction, enjoying the pool view and the lovely shisha and drinks, looking for some belly dancing and live singing?! should check their nightclub.

the disadvantage of the hotel location lies in that you have no other option but to hire one of the taxis at the hotel gates, and they are gonna charge slightly higher. it is gonna take you about 30-90 min to reach down town, depending on the traffic.

But it is 10 min away from the Pyramids making it an ideal location for tourists with a short visit to Giza, as you may visit the pyramids by day and head to another attraction after words.

(it is better that you start by visiting the pyramids then move on to the museum then to Khan el Khalili enjoy the whole day and return back to the hotel at night, making it a a smart plan)

if you are staying in a downtown hotel, it would consume more time visiting the pyramids leaving you with less available time visiting other attractions.

Giza and Cairo are 2 very big cities with ALOT of tourist attractions. Plan your tour, seek the help of a tour guide, priorities and always expect some time wasters e.g. traffic.

am sure you are gonne enjoy your trip to beautiful Egypt, wish all the best for you all

I wouldn't really say 4 star Jan 27, 2010
It claims it's a 4 star hotel, but I beg to differ. The courtyards are beautiful, but the rooms are bare. The beds and TV are outdated and slightly on the hard side. The sliding glass doors are a unique touch, but they get old fast. Oh, and you only get one key (not a key card, a KEY) per room. The card that's attached to the key is meant to turn on the electricity for the room, which I thought was pretty neat--that way you never forget your key because it's right by the door! The worst part: NO CLOCKS! WHO DOESN'T PUT A CLOCK IN A HOTEL ROOM? How are you supposed to know what time it is?

The service has it's good and bad sides. Most of the time the people were friendly and willing to help. My main complaint was the lack of communication between the staff. One person will tell you the belly dancer starts at 10:30, then they say 12. Or they tell you that you can order anything from the Italian restaurant in the Camel Bar (which isn't true); they only have 4-5 Italian things you can order, and the prices are completely different!

It wasn't too far from the pyramids, which was a plus. But it was an hour from the airport. It had a shuttle that went downtown, but finding the shuttle to go back to the hotel was nearly impossible!

Now for the positive: It was beautiful. The gardens are so perfectly trimmed. You're on a busy street but you don't really notice. The restaurants had great food. The bathrooms were huge and really clean. Hot water was always running. I'm still iffy on staying there again. But overall, this hotel is good for people who are just looking for a place to put their stuff and crash in between sightseeing.

Great place... good service.. good food Jan 14, 2009
This hotel turned out to be better then what we initially thought it would be like. This place is located North of the Pyramids and somewhat away from the city, but overall great service. The rooms were big and clean. Food was great too. Nightly entertainment and security was always on site.. For a 4 star, I would say its a good deal!
