Great fun! Apr 22, 2011
This hostel rocks! Lots of social activities like a ping pong table, and dinner nights to make you feel right at home. It's conveniently located, clean and has a great vibe.

I'm still great friends with travelers I met here.

great hostel in granada Dec 09, 2009
Great hostel for backpackers. Its clean and has a good location.. the best thing is all the people you meet during your stay and the friendly staff.

The hostel is really close to the Alhambra and they offer a free walking tour around the city that you should take :). The breakfast is included (just coffee and cereal).

Oasis Backpackers' Hostel Granada Aug 27, 2008
This hostel offers FREE breakfast. It is the usual coffee, juice, cereal, milk, etc but it is FREE. For people traveling on a budget, they offer great cultural dining experiences for about €5 – yes they have vegetarian food too! They also offer a FREE Tapas Tour on Sundays. For a fee, Spanish lessons are offered 3 times a week. Upon arrival, you are given a FREE drink coupon to use in their bar. FREE use of the telephone. For the price, can you believe all of the FREE stuff you get! The kitchen is available for use if you would like to cook your own meals.

If you take the airport shuttle, ensure that you get off at the Cathedral stop. Cross the street and start following signs to the hostel. You should follow the signs through the shopping streets until you come to the hostel – it can be hard to find.

Although we had a huge roach in our bathroom, the bathroom is cleaned daily. If you have messy roommates, you will have a messy bathroom. If not, you will be fine. The housekeeping staff is generally nice but do not speak much English. Our room was two rooms in one. It was divided into three sections. The first section was a tiny hall which housed the lockers and the bathroom. From this hall, you could get to two different rooms. The first room had two sets of bunk beds. The last section/room had three sets of bunk beds. So if you booked a six person room, you would expect to share a bathroom with only five other people. That was not the case! The bathroom was shared with both rooms, therefore, ten people in all. This made using the bathroom a game of chance.

The reception staff is very nice. The reception is only open from 0800-2400. They were helpful is giving directions and recommending restaurants. There is free use of the computers and Internet, including wireless connection. Beware, there are only three computers! We would recommend using them very late at night or very early in the morning or you will wait in a line that can get very long. Check in time is noon and check out time is 1130. There is a €5 room key deposit per person. If you plan to leave before 0800, make sure you check out the night before to receive your deposit back.

We would recommend this hostel to anyone traveling in Granada. It has a nice atmosphere - great value for the money. Even though they advertise that they accept credit cards, they prefer CASH. We have seen them turn people down with plastic and tell them to give them the cash as soon as they could.

An awesome hostel! Jun 05, 2008
I stayed in Oasis Backpackers while I was in Granada (10th-12th May 2008) and I had a fabulous time. The location was great, very accessible to most places and yet not quite trapped in the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is nice, quaint and so full of life. It has a lovely rooftop for you to just chill out and do nothing.

All facilities in the hostel are clean. The service was awesome.

If you stay in Oasis in Granada, you're definitely bound to meet new friends from all over the world because they almost always organize something every night for everyone and anyone to join (e.g. dinner party, tapas tours)

You won't regret staying in Oasis Granada :)

I can highly recommend the Oasis hostel in Granada, it's pretty popular but they do reserve space for walk-ins so might be worth a try anyway. Very laidback and friendly staff, good communal areas to meet other travellers :)

What a shame, we missed each other by just a month ;) Although to be honest I only spent the afternoon there on my way back from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and almost all of that was spent in the Haagen Daz store!

It's the period of Semana Santa in Spain at this time! You are so lucky to be there during this period, yet no wonder you have such a hard time to find a hotel. Anyway, good luck looking for one. I hope you find a place to stay soon. :)

My sister and I backpacked through Europe in 05, and this hostel was by far one of our favorites! We stayed two extra days as a result of having so much fun with the people in the hostel!! We had ping pong tourneys, went on night hikes in search of the cave dwellers, participated in the free tours that the hostel offers, and went on other excursions with the people living there. they have creative PUB TRIVIA at the hostel, international cuisine night (with a head chef), and the infamous PUB TOUR:)

A lot of the people that come to Oasis end up staying there and working for a time because they love the city and the people. We paid around 10E to stay here, which made it one of the cheaper hostels in Europe! That, AND the FREE Internet access!! It is a MUST if you are going to Granada:)
The fight for the title!

This place is great. It was only 15€ per night and each bed comes with sheets, pillow cases etc, which if you´ve never stayed in a hostel is sometimes an issue. One place I had stayed at charged for the top sheet, another charged for all sheets.

Here they have 24 hr keycard access, their reception is open until midnight, and checkout isn´t until 11a. They have their own bar with cheap drinks as well as 2 free internet computers, a patio, a self servicekitchen and bbq. They have assorted events set up including cheap dinners at about 9p and lots of travel information around to review.

The hostel is just slightly off the main drag so it´s quiet at night which is good because it does not have air conditioning, but at night that´s not important because even in July/Aug the nights are cool. There are small personal safes in every room for every person.

They have a free breakfast served late, until 11a, as well as free coffee and tea, and television.

Great hostel, especially for seeing the city right away. It is very

close to the Alhambra, and the nightlife is right around the corner

(along with the people that hand out free drink tickets at

night). If you want to meet fellow travelers to go out with, this

is the place. There is a great upstairs patio, and tea and bread is

available for you to eat in the morning. The language center is right

down the alley where there are fliers for free "intercambios" if you

want to have a language exchange with students or others interested in

practicing a language you might know.

This place is kind of difficult to find, but you won't miss it the second time around.
