Oakland Mall Troy Reviews
Troy's affordable Mall Oct 04, 2011
Oakland Mall is located right off of I-75 Exit 68 West on 14 Mile road. Although it is in Troy it is on the very edge. If you go across 14 mile it turns into Madison Heights.
Oakland Mall in my opinion is about 2/3 the size ( maybe less) than Somerset. It is almost all on one floor and is separated into four sections. In the center of the mall is the fountain where you can walk east, west, north and South to a specific area.
If you come in through the 14 Mile packing lot you will be walking into the North section where the food court is. Here there are a handful of places where you can buy food and go sit at the tables to eat. Restaurants include Subway, Sbarro's, Charlie's subs,Oglas, a chinese food place and a sweets stop. Down this hallway are a few stores you can choose from such as Verizon and a hat store.
As you walk to the center of the aisle you can go East, West and South to a different location. So lets go East. Here at the end of the East section is Macy's. Near Macy's is a coffee shop, Borders, and a few other random stores you can visit.
If you head West through the center of the mall you can walk to the end where their is a Sears. There is also a Foot Locker, Arby's, Hot Topic and other stores.
Now if you head South you will be walking past A Coney Island ripoff, Dairy Queen, EB Games, jewelry store and some few others. Here is where you can either decide to go to the bottom of the section or head to the top via escalators or stairs. Either way you will eventually end up a JCPenney at the end of the way.
While Oakland Mall may not be as glamorous as Somerset Collection it is definitely more affordable. It doesn't have the variety that Somerset Collection has though. Either way this could be a good stop to have a quick snack or pick up something inexpensive!
