O'Sullivan's Pub Travel Reviews

Jun 09, 2007
Just at the corner of Temple Bar on Westmoreland Street you find O'Sullivans. It seems to be an normal traditional pub, but there is a life performance from Thursday to Sunday, a guy with guitar singing Irish drinking songs or anything else you wish for.
It's usually full of tourists, but you also have a good few regulars, like us, that just can't get enough of it.
They serve bar food until 8pm or 9pm on the weekends. Staff isn't the friendliest you've met, but some of them again are great.
The decoration is lovely. They have two huge old barrels you would be using as table (the do carry a grown up to dance on too, but the staff doesn't like the idea very much :))
You might want to avoid it on Friday and Saturday as the pub (just like most other pubs) would be full of hen parties. But check it out, some weekends it's a lovely crowd in there. And still the nicest days are Thursdays and Sundays.

Nice review! I hit a couple of Dublin pubs (including the Temple Bar), but I missed O'Sullivan's. I'll make sure to check it out on a Thursday or Sunday next time in Dublin :-D

genkeeper says: Grab a pint at The Hole in the Wall Pub and listen to the Harps rock the house with their edgy, yet authentic traditional Irish Music. There is no cover at the pub to watch the band play, unlike in America, and the singing locals will tell you this band brings the real stuff. Check out the bands w...
genkeeper says: If you are looking for the ultimate sports pub in Dublin, go no further than this cavernous pub with its faux Viking ceiling. A sports enthusiast’s haven on game day; this lively pub has three big screens (sometimes showing different matches simultaneously), cheerful bar staff eager to replenish ...
