Traditional, cosy and welcoming Oct 15, 2011
The pint costs about the same as it does everywhere in Dublin, and it's perfectly tapped. The music is varied and unobtrusive; I heard both "Think" by Aretha Franklin and traditional Irish folk while I sat there. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and if you get there early in the evening (I was there around six) it's not too crowded, either.

The best thing about O'Donoghue's, though, is undoubtedly the food. Irish pub food, though not ranging very far from a burger and fries to Irish stew, is delicious. I ordered the classic Irish stew, and it was served with homemade brown bread and butter, piping hot and full of big, chunky pieces of beef. On a cold autumn day, it was the perfect meal, and I heartily recommend anyone passing through Dublin to try it.
