Novotel Resort Nusa Dua Bali Reviews
Vacation in paradise Jul 28, 2011
I stayed at the Novotel in Nusa Dua in 2010. My (now) husband and I went and met up there with 6 of our friends who arrived a day later. When we checked in, we were AMAZED at how beautiful the grounds were, and then amazed at how beautiful our room was!
Food was really good, but expensive, as were drinks. It is cheaper to get breakfast as room service in your room then to go to the breakfast buffet (we did the buffet two mornings though and it was quite delicious) and they come back about 45 mins - an hour later to take your dirty plates away. They also made up our room for us (perfectly) every day, it was spotless and we felt very pampered.
The pool was really nice, and they had daily activities like water aerobics, which we did one day and was actually pretty fun though we felt like dorks. There were quite a few kids in the pool (so it seemed like the resort was good for families as well as couples) but they didn't really bother us, and as the pool has quite a few nooks and two levels, it was easy to find a quiet corner.
We never went to the private beach, you have to get the shuttle to get to it as the resort is not actually on the beach, but our friends said it was really nice.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful, arranging transport for us into Kuta at night, arranging motorcycles for us to hire and overall helping us find the info we needed. The only complaint I would have about them is our friends room..(6 of them flew in together) they had booked 3 seperate rooms (3 couples) and were basically told by the staff that they were being put into a 3 bedroom suite, which seemed like it would be ok and give us a fun place to all hang out, but the 3 bdrm suite turned out to have 1 main bedroom and two really small bedrooms, and the sound traveled all through the place (not good for 3 couples trying to have a romantic vacation). It was basically a family room, obviously meant for parents and kids. Luckily when they complained they were allowed to switch back to seperate rooms, but they did have to spend one night there, and turns out that one suite was way less money than the 3 seperate rooms they had paid for, so the hotel was really trying to save themselves some $.
But since that was cleared up fairly quickly, and there were no other issues, I would highly recommend this place. Just don't let them talk you into sharing a suite!
