Novotel Moscow Centre Hotel

This is one hotel where you will want to stay when somebody other than you is paying! The rates during the weekend are bearably (~$300) but shoot up to ~$700 a night during weekdays and that's for regular room only.

You are not paying for nothing, however. The place is clean. The rooms are large, I actually had more space than I knew what to do with. The empty area by the window in my room was large enough for another king size bed. I had no problems whatsoever with cigarette smoke sipping in from other rooms/floors, which is a big positive in my book.

For business travelers, wifi internet costs extra.

The restaurant food is expensive, as expected, and quite good. Breakfast buffer choices are very wide and are also high quality.

Staff is friendly for the most part, although for this price I would expect the concierge not to forget to call me back in 5 minutes as promised. That happened only once though and the rest of the staff were very helpful.

There is security all around the hotel and random people shouldn't get by too easily. A couple of ladies of the night hangout in the lounge downstairs, if that's your thing.

The hotel is located right next to several Metro stations which makes it extremely convenient. If you do get lost though, don't expect much help from the locals, even the policemen standing on the street a hundred meters away could not figure out which way the hotel was.
