A culturally rich and tourist friendly city, Novi Sad is located in northern Serbia, and it is the 3rd largest city in the country. With a population of about 300,000, it makes for a perfect "not too big, not too small" city.
The main attractions of the city are: "Strand" beach on the Danube, Petrovaradin Fortress, City Museum and seemingly hundred of bars which are full at any point of the week whether daytime or nighttime.
Also, Novi Sad is the host to the annual "Exit" music festival, which is an incredible 26 stage fest with many local, as well as world famous bands. It is among the biggest music events in Europe and usually lasts 4 days in the month of July.
One more beautiful side of Novi Sad is that there are trees at the street, parks are as well a good place to go to rest after a walk, or just to escape in the nature and still stay in the heart of the city. In compaction to the capital Belgrade, it is way greener, calmer and friendlier place.
Hill called Fruska Gora surrounds Novi Sad, and it is beautiful nature preserve full of old monasteries.
