Long refered to as the Serbian Athens, it has alwasys been a center of culture and learning. It's a bit more like Vienna and Budapest than Belgrade or Sarajevo.
I spent the afternoon walking through this laid back northern Serbian town, which is only about 1 hour from Belgrade. I found my w…

January 4th - Me and Brian boarded a bus in Belgrade, Serbia and headed off to Novi Sad, which is the capital of the semi-autonomous state of Vojvodina, in Serbia. It is a smaller city (about 300-350 thousand people). We arrived there and called our friend Tammy, who I'd met earlier in the trip, an…

Oh, yeah.. my beautiful country! Anyone should visit Serbia. It has many cultural and historical notable monuments from Celts, Roman, Early Slavic, Ottoman, Yugoslav and at least modern Serbian time! Nature is also amazing! Serbia is full of National Parks, Mountains and Spas. For all those who come to Serbia in summer, i recommend to visit "EXIT festival" (One of the most popular music festivals in Europe, similar as "Roskilde") and Gucha fest (It's Trompete fest. 600.000 visitors in 2007)

I went to Serbia to visit a friend a couple years ago. At first I thought I'd just hang out with her because I didn't think Serbia has that much to offer (ignorant, I know). I was also a little hesitant and a bit scared of Serbia. When you're from Croatia like me, Serbia isn't a place people flock to. I had an amazing time though. It was such a beautiful country and the people were so nice. I really really liked it there and was sad to leave.
