Fun for all the family May 26, 2015
Nottingham Castle isn't actually a castle, so if you're visiting in the hope of visiting a castle then you may feel a little cheated! It is however, a nice way to spend a couple of hours in Nottingham, being close to the centre you can take a brief walk there or hop of one of the many buses that passes it.

The "castle" is situated on top of a hill (naturally) and the views around are great, with boards showing you what towns you can see in the distance and tells you a little about each town.

Inside there are many rooms to explore, with plenty of dressing up opportunities for children and lots for adults to read.

There is a (rather expensive) cafe and nice clean restrooms and outside there is a little park and a few picnic benches to eat a picnic on should you have brought one though with such close proximity to town and not many benches at which to sit, I'd personally eat in town instead.

You'll not spend too long here, probably a couple of hours, perhaps 3 at the most if you have older children but the time you spend here will be enjoyable.

low price to pay for a whole lot of history Mar 05, 2011
The Nottingham Castle has a whole lot of history:

Castle History

A stunning Ducal Palace stands proudly on the site of where a medieval castle once stood. Whilst it may not be a traditional castle, this fabulous building is still every bit as precious, with standing high on Castle Rock overlooking the City, Nottingham Castle is visited by over 270,000 visitors each year, a number that includes school children, families, academics and tourists.

It's cheap and something people all over the world know about also not too far is the tales of robin hood and you can also walk through the exact caves that the only most wealthy people did only a few hundred years ago.
