Trondheim, Norway -› -› ...
In my head I always remember a commercial from Norwegian television that was built around one sentence “It’s good to be Norwegian " in Denmark” and now I know why! I have never in my life been in a place where things have been so expensive, it was ludicrous. I guess it starts when you come out to your rental car after being parked in front of the hotel for 30 min and you find a parking ticket attached to your front window; 700 Nkr or 93 euro. They must be well off. I later parked my c...

It was such a wonderful day. Sun was shining and it was quite warm. I decided to go for a walk, and since it's been a while I took my cat with me, she came along as well. And even though she's now used to walk free,  she walked on a leash like she's never done anything else. Good girl... lol To get to a trail into the woods, we had to walk up the road. This meant cars and other people out walking in the great weather. Got some funny looks, but most people thinks it's just cute with a ...

Today is March 8th and in Norway it's women's day, but for me that means nothing much then another day. This day would be different from the other since we had made plans on visiting the winterpark close to Lillehammer. A friend of mine, Liz aka quest here on TB, had been there a few weeks earlier and told me about the place and me having kids had an extra excuse for going there. They are only open 2 a week, wednesday and saturday, and the last day for the season would be March 15th so not ma...

Elverum, Norway -› Norway -› ...
In the wintertime, around Christmas 1985 a little girl was born in a small town in the south east part of Norway.  That little girl was me.  This is the place where I'm born and raised, and the place I'll always call home. Elverum is the home to 18 000 people, and known for the river Glomma (the longest river in Norway) and the forestry museum.  We don't get a lot of tourists.  Usually they just pass by on their way to some place bigger and better.  But if you j...

To day was the day, I met Melanie - mellemel8 , a Travbuddy from who I have read lots of blogs.  I wanted to show her my part of Trondheim, lots to see, but so short of time. I drove down to the harbour with my banners, the American and the Norwegian, to welcom Melanie and her mother to Trondheim.  M/S Midnatsol  arrived Trondheim 8.15 pm.  The weather was rather nice, not so warm at 8.00 pm, but after a while the sun decided to shine on us. A beautiful day

When i woke up this morning i looked outside thinking i would probably stay inside all day long. After drinking my tea, which is something i do every morning, i got off my sore glutes and hit the shower. All of a sudden i got this urge to go outside and called my friend Lil who lives downtown Oslo. She was happy to hear from me since we hadn't hooked up in sometime. I suggested we bring the camera and go and take some photos and our destination was Frognerparken. We meet an hour later and the...

Beautiful winter weather...

When it's this kind of weather, I really don't mind it being winter. It's just so beautiful when the trees are covered in frost and the sun shines from a clear blue sky. Yes, it was cold, but I couldn't care less... :o) I only wish I had taken a bit more time, and shot some more pics.  My bad... :o( The scenery across Hadeland County is pretty much like this. It's farmland and has wide, open spaces a lot of places. It's actually nice both summer and winter. I haven't thought that ...
