Northport is Tuscaloosa’s neighboring town in Alabama. Separated by the Black Warrior River, both towns are the landmark of Tuscaloosa county.

While Tuscaloosa is known mostly by the events and activities related to its college town pride, Northport has its own charm. The town is famous for its art community, beautiful landscapes, lakes, and quaint neighborhoods.

Northport's most important cultural activity is the annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts. Each year in October, hundreds of artists gather at Kentuck Park to showcase their work in front of thousands of visitors. The event has been a huge success.

On the first Thursday of each month is Northport’s Art Night. Visitors can enjoy art galleries in downtown Northport. The event welcomes new artists and their masterpieces.

Downtown Northport displays a row of stores owned by local entrepreneurs that you can’t find anywhere else. Antique shops, cafes and restaurants, cake shops, hardware stores, barber, and more art galleries. In the middle of the predictable supermarket/store/restaurant chains spreading out in small towns, Northport offers originality, creativity, and hospitality like no other.
