As I said previously, my last full day in Istanbul was pretty good. I hung out with these two Brits, old enough to be my dad, yakking about various things.... Including politics. Like many Europeans, I did not agree with us invading Iraq three years ago, and I certainly still feel that way. We also discussed how China is just sitting back watching us, most likely laughin' their asses off as we continue to dig ourselves i...

I will be leaving for New Orleans in just a few hours! I am meeting up with my friend Pat from upstate New York, my friends Larry, Lee and Jake from Denver and my friend Jenny who lives in New Orleans. I usually run into other friends from Denver while I am there.
I don't know whether or not I will be updating this blog from New Orleans, but I will definitely provide information about my trip (with pictures) upon my return.
One thing many people have asked me is whether or not I...

Well, my whirlwind 'round-the-world trip is complete. Although I enjoy traveling and all the benefits that go along with that, it's good to be home. It will be good to get some structure back into my life, plus, nothing beats good 'ol American soft toilet paper!
I had a wonderful time and I highly recommend a trip like this. I still can't believe all the places I've been, the things I've seen and the people that I have met. It has been an amazing experience!
I will g...

You can access Pt. Defiance 2 different ways, Take I-5 north or south to point Defiance, or you can take Ruston way which is a wonderful senic way to Pt. Defiance. There are plenty of shops, restraunts, museums, and coffee places. Old town tacoma offers plenty of history. Ruston way offers many waterfront restraunts, beaches,to walk on,paragliding, and views of the many islands in the puget sound, and the port of tacoma. Down town also offer the tacoma dome, the old amtrac station, museum of glass a...

Morning - Went to downtown Denver to walk around some more and eat. We ate at the Wynkoop Brewery - the food was good and so was the beer. We got a flight of everything including the pumpkin beer (I liked it a lot!).
Afternoon - We went to Hammond's Candy Factory for our free tour. All of their candy is handmap the "old fashioned" way. Our tour guide was very entertaining and my dentist appreciates our visit. Then we stopped at a new outdoor shopping mall before we made our way to the airport.

The last day in Toronto - and we went to the Eaton Center - a huge shopping mall in Toronto. We bought a lot of things and our feet ached once again. The highlight of the day - the cruise to the Toronto Islands. We started in the Harbour with a ferry - the crossing took 10 minutes. We left on the first stop and aet our subway sandwich. After that we made a walk to the Lake Ontario (they got a beach for swimming there). We took the next ferry to the second and third st...

We went up to clear camp for the begining of camp season, and found this hotel that will accomidate a whole family or dive team. Not a bad place if your not into luxury and room service. There are plenty of restraunts near by, and lot's of beach to walk on when the tides out. From this spot you can head out on to the peninsula, to Bremerton,Port angel's,Port Townsend, and To the pacific ocean. It is a beautiful drive, but a long one. and worth the trip if you don't mind slow winding roads to ...
